How do I prompt the AI assistant to build or redesign a website?

Start a new chat in the AI assistant, click the dictation button and talk through everything. A one sentence prompt works, but it forces the AI to fill many gaps. A good website prompt covers:

1. What you are building and the type of page, for example a landing page for Facebook ads, and a limit such as a maximum of four sections if you want one.
2. Who you are, who you target and the services you offer, plus any short phrase that describes the business.
3. The main outcome and the single main call to action, for example book more service appointments, and what any form offers (for example a PDF lead magnet). Put the outcome in the hero and explain below it how you deliver it.
4. The look and feel: colors (for example red, black and white with bright red buttons), style (clean, modern, minimal, a certain vibe), the hero (for example a dark background photo with a slight overlay so the form stays the focus), images that fit your niche, and effects such as entrance animations and hover effects.
5. The logo to use.
6. The skills to use, for example the conversion rate optimization skill and the marketing copy skill. The humanizer skill is usually applied automatically (you can also ask for it), and the design taste skill reduces the generic AI look.
7. Ask it to make sure the page is mobile friendly.

For an agency website, a format that works well is: who we are, who we serve, a little about the ideal clients and the outcome we provide (for example more appointments booked), and below that how you deliver it, such as database reactivation, an AI receptionist or social media management.

To redesign an existing site, paste its address into the assistant and say what to keep and what to change. You can keep the same text and images if the owner loves them, or use the old site only for the logo and to understand the business, with none of its structure. If you paste the old site, the result may reuse its headlines, so say "use the old text for inspiration only" if you want new copy. The AI fetches the logo, matches the color scheme and creates images when the old site has few.

The AI asks for approval before it creates a website project. Answer its questions, or turn on auto approve so you do not have to approve each step. If you have no website project yet, tell it to create a new one. If you build the same type of demo again and again, the AI may notice you already have, for example, a roofing website and edit that one; to get a fresh site, tell it to ignore all existing websites and create a new one from scratch.

If you are not happy with the result, ask for another version, for example with more of a human touch or different images. Running the same prompt twice gives different results, so you can generate two versions and keep the one you like or the one that performs better. Anything the AI builds can be opened in the website builder and edited by hand; adjust the form so it matches the page. You can also ask ChatGPT to rewrite a prompt for your niche.
